ORIGINAL SCREENPLAYS CATEGORIES

The GFF10 is accepting original screenplays in the following categories:

o Drama
o Comedy
o Horror
o Sci-Fi

Screenplays must be original works (i.e., not adapted from a novel, play, graphic novel or other work) between 90 and 120 pages.

NOTE: Entry fees are in US Dollars and non-refundable. Read eligibility requirements carefully prior to submitting.

SCREENPLAY ELIGIBILITY

To be considered for the Geneva Film Festival:

  • Entrants must fully comply with Entry Rules and Regulations including, but not limited to deadlines, entry material requirements and selected film requirements.
  • Screenplays must be original works (i.e., not adapted from a novel, play, or any other work). 
  • Only English-language works will be accepted.
  • Screenplays must use industry accepted formats and be between 90 and 120 pages.
  • Submitted screenplays must not have been commercially produced in the United States prior to the Geneva Film Festival 2010.
  • Finished works must have been completed after January 1, 2008.
  • Materials submitted to the Geneva Film Festival will NOT be returned for any reason.
  • STUDENT ENTRIES - Must be produced through an accredited educational institution and include a photocopy of a current, valid ID or letter from the school verifying enrollment.
  • ENTRY FEES are in US Dollars and non-refundable. Read eligibility requirements carefully prior to submitting.

Please be “green” and submit a “PDF” copy of your screenplay at Withoutabox.

Note that the GFF’10 reserves the right to re-assign Screenplays to different categories as it deems appropriate.Please direct all questions to: jvass@genevafilmfestival.org

IF YOUR SCREENPLAY IS SELECTED

If your work is selected for exhibition at the 3rd Annual Geneva Film Festival 2010 you must fulfill the following requirements by the date(s) designated by the GFF’10:

    1. You will be required to execute a release and agreement wherein you:
      • Accept responsibility for obtaining any and all clearances necessary to exhibit your   screenplay at the GFF’10;
      • Warrant that you have the rights necessary to exhibit your screenplay at the GFF’10;
      • Indemnify and hold harmless the GFF10 and its affiliates against any claims arising out of exhibition of your screenplay at the GFF’10.
    2. Provide press materials including the Screenwriters bio and photo (digital JPEG format only).
    3. Screenwriters whose works have been selected and nominated for an award will be notified via email by March 1, 2010. 
    4. The GFF’10 holds the right to rescind invitations if the screenplay eligibility status changes.
